Seconds after Ohio State picked off Baker Mayfield and returned it 68 yards to the house, Oklahoma responded with a 97-yard touchdown on the ensuing kickoff.
However, a closer look at the end of Joe Mixon's return shows he actually dropped the ball prior to crossing the goal line. Therefore, the touchdown shouldn't have counted.
The field referees never noticed, and apparently replay officials didn't either, because the play wasn't reviewed. Mixon's touchdown cut the Buckeyes' lead to 14-7 in the first quarter.
