Stanford's Ryan Burns: Strong finish yields road win
Burns completed 13-of-25 passes for 137 yards, a touchdown and an interception and carried six times for 18 additional yards Saturday as Stanford escaped UCLA 22-13 on the road in Pasadena.
Analysis:
While Burns struggled throughout the first 58 minutes of Saturday's contest, he caught fire on Stanford's final offensive possession, completing five passes for 66 yards and a scoring strike to J.J. Arcega-Whiteside that put his team up 16-13 with 24 seconds remaining in the game. The Cardinal head into a crucial Week Five road contest at Washington with a 3-0 record as a result of that drive, yet guided by a quarterback averaging only 131.7 passing yards a game and currently sporting a TD:INT ratio of 3:2. This being the case, fantasy owners should know they aren't going to see Burns putting up eye-popping numbers in the Sept. 30 showdown with the Huskies.
