Wisconsin's Gaglianone out for season with back injury

Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his ailing back Thursday, the team announced.

Gaglianone didn't play last week at Michigan State because of the bad back, and his condition worsened as the week progressed, the team said.

The junior, who converted seven of his eight kicks this season, will be able to apply for a medical hardship waiver, which would give him an additional year of eligibility.
