Tennessee dismisses O'Brien for violating team rules days after scary hit
In a stunning turn of events, Danny O'Brien has been dismissed from Tennessee just days after suffering a scary hit to the head during the Volunteers recent loss to Texas A&M.
The school released a statement Monday assuring that the move bares no connection to O'Brien's injury, and asserts that the university will provide any additional care he requires.
O'Brien issued an apology Monday night on his personal Twitter page, taking full responsibility for his dismissal.
I take full responsibility. I'm grateful for my teammates, coaches, and Vol nation. It has been and honor to help bring this program back.

O'Brien was injured during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game when he collided with Aggies running back Keith Ford. He was placed on a stabilizing board and removed from the field, but thanked fans for the support and confirmed that "I'll be all good."
The redshirt senior appeared in all six games for the Volunteers so far this season, recording 14 total tackles.
There were no specifics given in regards to his violation of team rules.
