AP Poll: Michigan inches closer to Alabama, Louisville replaces Ohio State in Top 5
Michigan was able to remain undefeated and climb one spot higher in this week's AP poll, now with only Alabama between the Wolverines and the top of the FBS mountain.
Alabama held firm to the top spot thanks to a defeat of Texas A&M, who falls from No. 6 to No. 9 after its first loss of the season. One need to look no further than Ohio State for the most unexpected drop in ranking, relinquishing the No. 2 spot to the Wolverines and forced to settle for the No. 6 spot this week.
Three fresh faces find themselves in the latest AP Poll installment, as Colorado, Penn State, and Virginia Tech round the final three spots after being absent last week. For Penn State, this marks the first time the team has been ranked without the late Joe Paterno as head coach since 1954.
