Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson went into the locker room late in the second quarter of Saturday's game against Syracuse with a shoulder injury.
Head coach Dabo Swinney said at halftime that Watson told him the issue was muscular, while the team announced the injury is a bruise.
Watson, who was replaced in the huddle by backup Nick Schuessler, didn't return for the beginning of the third quarter, but was deemed available to play.
The star junior was 13-of-16 for 169 yards and two touchdowns in the opening half prior to his exit. He also rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
