Texas A&M's Knight out for regular season with shoulder injury
Texas A&M's Trevor Knight will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a shoulder injury suffered in Saturday's loss to Mississippi State, Kevin Sumlin confirmed to Sam Khan Jr. of ESPN on Tuesday.
The Oklahoma transfer injured his shoulder in the first half of the contest against the Bulldogs, but briefly returned after examination in the locker room.
His return would be short-lived however, as Knight would come off the field after the next drive, spending the remainder of the game on the sideline in a sling.
Jake Hubenak took over for Knight and threw for 222 yards and two scores.
Hubenak will be the starting quarterback going forward, with Knight possibly able to play in a bowl game to be determined. The junior started Texas A&M's bowl game last season after both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray transferred, throwing for 307 yards and two touchdowns against Louisville.
For the season, Knight has thrown for 1,911 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also rushing for 583 yards and 10 scores.
The Aggies host Ole Miss this Saturday, who will also be playing without its starting quarterback with Chad Kelly out for the season after tearing his ACL.
