Watson breaks ACC's single-game passing record

One week after injuring his shoulder, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson broke the ACC's single-game passing record by posting 580 yards on Pitt.
Former Miami quarterback Stephen Morris had the previous record of 566 yards, set in 2012.
It took less than three full quarters for Watson to break the Tigers' single-game passing record, surpassing Tajh Boyd's mark of 455 yards. Boyd established his clip against Syracuse in 2013.
Watson finished the game 52-of-70 for 580 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions, but it wasn't enough to hold off Pitt. The Panthers walked out of Death Valley with a 43-42 victory, thanks to a last-second field goal.
