Report: Notre Dame assistant Mike Denbrock leaving for Cincinnati
The turnover at Notre Dame continued Tuesday, with assistant coach Mike Denbrock leaving for Cincinnati, according to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated.
Denbrock will reportedly take the offensive coordinator position with the Bearcats, and will work under new coach Luke Fickell, who was hired on Dec. 10th.
The 52-year-old has been with Brian Kelly and the Irish since 2010, where he began as tight ends coach before taking over on offense in Jan. 2014.
There have been changes aplenty in South Bend since the season ended. Mike Elko was hired as defensive coordinator to replace Brian VanGorder, who was fired in late September, and Mike Sanford took the head coaching position at Western Kentucky.
Cincinnati was ranked 121st in scoring offense and 99th in total offense last season.
