It's been a whirlwind few days for Illinois State football player Kobe Buffalomeat.
After being announced as part of the Redbirds' 2017 recruiting class and going viral on social media, Buffalomeat went national with an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday.
Buffalomeat, who's Native American, said he was named after Kobe Bryant.
Whenever he uses his ID or pays with a credit card, he said, people do a double take and ask if that's really his name.
As far as nicknames, he typically gets Buff, Beef, and Meat.
