Florida promotes Chris Rumph to co-defensive coordinator
Jim McElwain rewarded Florida's defensive line coach Chris Rumph with more responsibility on Friday, adding co-defensive coordinator to his job title.
The school announced multiple coaching roles for McElwain's assistants on Friday, the most notable being Rumph's promotion to work alongside current defensive coordinator Randy Shannon. McElwain also filled the rest of his open coaching roles on both sides of the ball.

Tim Skipper makes the transition to linebackers coach after spending the previous two seasons coaching Florida's running backs. That role will now be occupied by Ja'Juan Seider, who was the running backs coach at West Virginia from 2013-16, and at Marshall from 2010-12.
The Gators will open their 2017 schedule on Sept. 2 against Michigan in the Advocare Classic.
