Ole Miss hires Alabama's Freddie Roach as defensive line coach

Another Alabama staff member has left the program.

Crimson Tide director of player development Freddie Roach is joining Ole Miss as a defensive line coach, the Rebels announced Thursday.

"Freddie brings instant credibility to our defensive line room," Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said. "His coaching skills and passion for the game make him a great fit for our staff. As a highly successful player and coach, Freddie has been a part of championship programs, and we look forward to having his experience on our team."

Roach is an Alabama native and held his role with Nick Saban and company since March 2015.

The 33-year-old joins Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, Mario Cristobal, and others who have recently left Saban's staff.
