Alabama players defend Foster after combine dismissal

Reuben Foster and his Alabama teammates are looking to keep the top inside linebacker prospect's draft stock from dropping too far, after it was reported late Friday he was sent home from the NFL Scouting Combine following a heated argument with a hospital worker.

Foster took to Instagram on Saturday to downplay the incident, saying "nothing happened," before his teammates answered questions on his behalf in Indianapolis.

"I feel like it was all blown out of proportion, you know what I mean? So I'm not going to get into all that," said linebacker Ryan Anderson, a probable second-round pick, according to AL.com's Michael Casagrande.

While Anderson was within earshot of Foster's incident, Alabama defensive line prospect Dalvin Tomlinson was also at the hospital, but didn't get the details of what caused the altercation.

"I know the real Reuben and everything like that so I was pretty shocked about it," said Tomlinson. "I'm going to talk to Reuben later on to find out so I can know the full story because I'm not really sure what happened and what triggered everything."

Foster wasn't scheduled to take part in the combine drills, as he's recovering from shoulder surgery, nor will he be ready for Alabama's pro day on Wednesday. But he'll get a chance to explain his side of the story while his teammates work out.
