Report: Pitt dismisses Jeremiah Taleni

Pitt will have to find a new anchor for its defensive line, as the program dismissed senior defensive tackle Jeremiah Taleni for disciplinary reasons, according to Jerry DiPaola of the Tribune-Review.
Taleni appeared in seven games in 2016, but had 24 tackles (5.5 for loss) and three sacks. In the Panthers' final five games, Taleni recorded 22 tackles and all of his sacks, making it seem he was ready to be relied upon as a senior in the trenches in 2017.
In three seasons, Taleni finished with 30 tackles (eight for loss) in 21 career games.
