D.J. Law's time at UAB has come to an end.
The "Last Chance U" star and running back is no longer with the Blazers, head coach Bill Clark told Drew Champlin of AL.com. Law joined the program from East Mississippi State last fall, but injuries and academic issues prevented him from hitting the practice field.
"I think his knee is going to be in good shape," Clark said. "He came in here behind the 8-ball academically. He's done a solid job. He really just had a lot to overcome."
Clark added that Law is debating whether to go to an NAIA school or try to play professionally in Canada.
UAB is returning to football this fall after shutting down the program in 2014.
