CFP announces 3-year extension for COO Michael Kelly
The College Football Playoff announced Monday that it has extended the contract of chief operating officer Michael Kelly for three years.
Kelly's new deal will keep him in his current role through June 2020.
"Michael's experience, intuition and work ethic got the CFP off to a great start," executive director Bill Hancock said. "With very little precedent to build on, he created a first-class event from scratch. He has earned the respect of everyone in our business, and we are delighted he will be with the CFP for a long time."
Kelly has previous experience working on the 1999 Final Four host committee and as president of three different Super Bowl host committees.
In his current role, Kelly oversees CFP game-related activities and is the point person for selecting the national title game hosts.
