Snyder: Cancer treatment ongoing, but no issues
Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder gave no indication Tuesday that his recovery from throat cancer could keep him away from the sidelines when the Wildcats open their season Sept. 2.
"I'm doing fine," the 77-year-old told reporters Tuesday at Big 12 Media Days, according to Sam Khan Jr. of ESPN. "The recovery is ongoing, quite obviously. I'm doing fine, getting around fine and don't have any issues right now, other than trying to prepare for the season."
Snyder began undergoing treatment at the end of last season, but was present for spring practice and maintained throughout the winter and spring that he'd be ready for the upcoming campaign.
Kansas State faces Central Arkansas to kick off the new season. Snyder, who turns 78 in October, led the Wildcats to a 9-4 season in 2016.
