Former Michigan State player, girlfriend suing Draymond Green for assault
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is being sued for alleged assault and battery by a former Michigan State football player and his girlfriend.
The lawsuit stems from a series of events that occurred last summer in East Lansing, Mich. Jermaine Edmondson and his girlfriend, Bianca Williams, accused two men, who were with Green, of choking them against a wall during an altercation at a local bar on July 9. Green was arrested roughly 24 hours later after he was accused of punching Edmondson in the face the following night when he encountered Williams and Edmondson at a restaurant.
A student and football player at Michigan State at the time, Edmondson "no longer felt safe on campus" following the pair of incidents, and believes his name was "dragged through the mud," he stated in a press conference Tuesday.
Green accepted a plea deal in exchange for reduced charges following his arrest.
