Texas Tech adds receiver Xavier Castille from SMU

After two seasons with SMU, wide receiver Xavier Castille has transferred to Texas Tech and is listed on the team's updated roster page.
Castille won't play this year due to transfer regulations for undergraduate students, but will be eligible to play two seasons for the Big 12 program upon his reinstatement.
The Rockwall, Texas native hauled in 40 receptions for 423 yards and a touchdown last season, and should give the Red Raiders a solid layer of receiving depth in 2018. Texas Tech lost three wideouts to transfers this offseason, including top weapon Jonathan Giles.
Castille's departure from SMU flew under the rader, as the Mustangs declined to confirm his exit when rumors surfaced in early June that he had left the program.
