Things could be going from bad to worse for Texas.
Longhorns head coach Tom Herman announced Monday that quarterback Shane Buechele suffered a bruised throwing shoulder in Saturday's loss to Maryland. The starting pivot will be re-evaluated this week and won't practice Tuesday.
Big things are expected from Buechele in his second season behind center and he was a bright spot against the Terps, throwing for 375 yards.
Sam Ehlinger will work with the No. 1 offense while Buechele is sidelined.
Herman on Ehlinger: "Is Sam ready? No. Not right now. But he will be. He's close, as close as any true freshman I've ever been around."
