Oregon's Freeman leaves game vs. Cal with apparent shoulder injury
Jennifer Buchanan / USA TODAY Sports
Oregon running back Royce Freeman was escorted to the locker room after he appeared to be shaken up during a Ducks drive in the first quarter of Saturday's game opposite California.
The broadcast noted Freeman suffered a shoulder injury. It's unknown if he'll return to the game.
Backup Kani Benoit has since shouldered the load in the Oregon backfield.
Freeman was heralded as one of the most talented running backs in the nation heading into the matchup. The senior compiled 51 yards on six carries before exiting the game.
