Orgeron's radio show gets heated as coach defends his job

Fed up with the recent criticism against him, Ed Orgeron defended his status as the head coach of LSU in a heated segment on his radio show Wednesday.

"I earned the job, whether you like it or not," he told a critical caller, according to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

Orgeron has been the target of Tigers fans' frustration since Saturday, when LSU embarrassingly lost its Homecoming game to Troy. The 56-year-old has spent the following days trying to assure anyone who will listen that he hasn't lost control of the program, though he admitted Wednesday he and his coordinators met with athletic director Joe Alleva earlier this week to discuss the team's struggles.

Orgeron is 9-4 as the head coach at LSU. He took over on an interim basis from Les Miles last year, and is 3-2 so far this season in his first campaign as the permanent boss.

The Tigers have dropped two of their last three decisions and will face Florida on Saturday.

As for the radio show, it seemed to go downhill in a hurry:
