Harbaugh 'well aware' of subpar record against Ohio State, Michigan State
Jim Harbaugh isn't hiding from his poor results against Michigan's biggest rivals.
Following Saturday's loss to Michigan State, the Wolverines' head coach is now 1-4 against the Spartans and Ohio State - something that isn't news to him.
"The record is what the record is. Well aware of what the record is," Harbaugh said, according to Nick Baumgardner of USA TODAY Sports. "Against Michigan State and against Ohio State we're 1-4. The record against all other opponents is 23-3. We know what the records are. We want to win those games."
Harbaugh has received praise for returning the program to prominence after the Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke eras, but he's also been criticized for not being able to overcome Michigan's archrivals.
The 53-year-old even conceded that he puts extra emphasis on those contests compared to other games.
"Yes," Harbaugh said. "We do."
The talk about the record will change in late November if Harbaugh can beat the Buckeyes and potentially secure a playoff spot, but for now, he's thinking about the present.
"We want to win those games," Harbaugh said. "We want to win every game we play. We want to win them all. Most importantly, we want to win (this week at Indiana), our next game."
