Mora defends Rosen amid questions surrounding toughness
UCLA head coach Jim Mora came to the defense of his ailing quarterback Monday, amid questions about Josh Rosen's ability - or willingness - to play through pain.
"I think it's ludicrous that anyone would question Josh Rosen's toughness when they don't know the nature of his injury," Mora said Monday, per Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times.
Rosen exited Saturday's contest with an apparent hand issue, though the Bruins later indicated he was being hampered by multiple injuries. Rosen watched the second half of UCLA's loss to Washington in street clothes, which led some - including ESPN analyst Brock Huard - to question his toughness.
"I would put very little stock into anything Brock Huard has to say about football," said Mora. "That will be controversial but it's the truth."
Rosen's injury isn't believed to be serious, but it's unknown if he'll be ready to take the field Friday against Utah. Mora noted he could still play if he misses the week of practice.
