It was looking bleak early in the fourth quarter, but a 26-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to DeVonta Smith in the final minute helped No. 2 Alabama clinch a 31-24 comeback over No. 16 Mississippi State in Starkville on Saturday night.
The Crimson Tide trailed 24-17 a minute into the final frame, but used a pair of touchdowns in the final 10 minutes to keep their perfect record intact.
Alabama looked vulnerable for much of the contest, and the Bulldogs appeared destined to pull off the upset when Tide kicker Andy Pappanastos missed a field goal with 2:03 left, which would've given the visitors a lead.
