Arizona has not offered Navy's Ken Niumatalolo or any other candidates its head coaching position, nor has it begun any negotiations, a source close to the search process told ESPN's Adan Rittenberg.
It was reported earlier Friday that Niumatalolo - who has coached Navy for the past 11 years - was offered the job after the final round of interviews, though Rittenberg reports that the school is still interviewing candidates.
Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate tweeted in favor of defensive coordinator Marcel Yates being hired as head coach and voiced his displeasure over Niumatalolo possibly joining the program.
Arizona fired former head coach Rich Rodriguez in early January after sexual harassment claims were made public.
