Report: McElwain a strong candidate to join Michigan as WRs coach
Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports
Former Florida head coach Jim McElwain is a strong candidate to join the Michigan staff as the receivers coach, a source told Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated.
Toledo offensive coordinator Brian Wright was a contender for the job, but has pulled out of contention, added Feldman.
McElwain was fired during the 2017 season after compiling a 22-12 record and two SEC East titles.
Ex-New York Jets offensive coordinator John Morton is also in the running for the role at Michigan.
