Michigan lands commitment from top-30 recruit Mazi Smith
Michigan bolstered its 2019 recruiting class in a big way Sunday, as four-star defensive tackle Mazi Smith announced his commitment to the Wolverines.
The Kentwood, Mich., native is the No. 29 overall prospect on the ESPN 300, and the second-ranked defensive tackle in the class of 2019.
The high-profile recruit held offers from a number of big-time programs across the country, including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, and Notre Dame, but opted to join Michigan.
Smith is the eighth four-star prospect (and the highest ranked) who's already committed to Jim Harbaugh's squad in the 2019 cycle. He'll join fellow top-50 defensive tackle Christopher Hinton in the maize and blue.
