Florida suspends incoming 4-star WR Watkins after 2nd offseason arrest
Top Florida recruit Justin Watkins has been suspended from all football activities after his second arrest this offseason, coach Dan Mullen told 247Sports.com's Thomas Goldkamp through a team spokesman Tuesday.
The receiver faces third-degree felony charges for false imprisonment/kidnapping and domestic battery by strangulation, as well as two first-degree misdemeanor battery charges, according to arrest records from Alachua County.
He remains in Alachua County Jail and his bond has yet to be set.
In May, Watkins was arrested for a misdemeanor complaint of trespassing on school grounds.
According to the police affidavit, he kicked a woman's car and broke her phone in an argument. Watkins then followed the woman into the student parking lot of a high school, the police report said, leading to his arrest.
The four-star prospect was one of Florida's top-rated signees.
