Kansas HS football coach flips out after ice-bath celebration
St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kan. had plenty to celebrate Saturday after winning the first state football title in program history. Getting hit with an ice bath apparently wasn't what head coach Randy Dreiling had in mind, though.
To say @STAsaints coach Randy Dreiling isn't a fan of the ice bath would be putting it mildly. Have shot high school football for 20 years and have never seen anything like this. Saints win their first state title over Wichita Northwest 49-28. #vkscores. @HK_Barber pic.twitter.com/ZduYx0CVgD

Dreiling was asked about the ice bath after the game and confirmed he isn't a fan of the celebration.
"No, not a fan of the ice bath," he told Travis Heying of the Wichita Eagle. "No, nobody ever gives me ice baths. That was a bad deal."
Dreiling's reaction garnered some critical responses on Twitter, but several of his players came to his defense.
First off RD is the best coach I’ve ever had and made me a better football player every year at STA and I was right next to RD when that happened and he was mad at Finn for having such beautiful eyes

All these hate comments 😂 don’t read a book by its cover, my coach is the best in the state and he knows what he’s doing when it comes to coaching, and grooming kids to become great. He didn’t mean any harm to our player fun fact he gave Finn a big hug when went to change 🤷🏾♂️

Coach Drielling is not only one of the greatest coaches in Kansas high school history but he’s also a man that knows how to shape highschool boys into men. Best coach I’ve ever had hands down. Notice how the only people upset about this are 30+ year olds that don’t know him lol.
