Houston offensive coordinator Kendal Briles has resigned from his position after a 70-14 loss to Army in the Armed Forces Bowl on Saturday, a source told Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports.
He's expected to become the new offensive coordinator at Florida State, Feldman added.
Briles joined Houston in January as the team's offensive coordinator, associate head coach, and quarterbacks coach. Between 2008-2016, he was a member of Baylor's coaching staff with his father, Art, before joining Florida Atlantic University for the 2017 season.
At FSU, Briles will take over for Walt Bell, who left the program to become the head coach at UMass. Florida State finished 5-7 this season, snapping a streak of 36 consecutive bowl appearances.
