Alabama made a big splash on National Signing Day, as four-star defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher announced he will sign with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday.
Sopsher is the No. 39 recruit in the ESPN 300, ranking as the second-best defensive tackle in the country.
The 6-foot-4, 330-pound defender held offers from a number of big-time programs, including LSU, Oregon, Auburn, Florida, and Clemson. Hailing from Amite, La., he chose Alabama over his home state Tigers.
Sopsher is the Crimson Tide's 13th top-100 signee of the 2019 recruiting cycle and joins No. 1-ranked defensive tackle Antonio Alfano, giving Nick Saban's outfit a formidable duo on the line.
