Toni Harris becomes 1st female non-kicker to sign letter of intent
Antoinette "Toni" Harris has made college football history as the first female football player at a skill position to sign a letter of intent.
The 5-foot-7, 164-pound safety from Detroit accepted a scholarship to Central Methodist in Missouri on Tuesday, joining a recruiting class that includes 34 student-athletes from 10 states. She chose CMU over offers from five other schools.

Harris started playing football at six years old and also has experience at the wide receiver and cornerback positions, according to ESPN's Tom VanHaaren. She was featured in a Toyota commercial that aired during Super Bowl LIII and has aspirations of one day playing in the NFL.
"Well, the NFL is the dream," she told espnW. "I'm going to be working toward that until the death of me. Whether I go drafted or undrafted, I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep my faith and God is going to take me there."
