Former Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois has joined FCS program Hampton, the school announced on Friday.
"I am very happy that Deondre Francois is joining our program," Pirates coach Robert Prunty said in a statement. "He is a cerebral football player with unbelievable athletic ability. More importantly, he is an outstanding young man who graduated Florida State in three-and-a-half years. We are ecstatic to have Deondre Francois in our program."
The redshirt junior was dismissed by the Seminoles in February after a woman said the quarterback abused her. She later recanted her statement and no charges were filed.
Francois won ACC Rookie of the Year in 2016 but missed the 2017 campaign after injuring his patellar tendon in the season opener. He completed 57.3 percent of his passes for 2,731 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions last year.
