Watch: Wake Forest tops North Carolina after controversial ending
Wake Forest defeated North Carolina 24-18 on Friday night after a wild end to the game.
Trailing 21-0 at halftime, the Tar Heels stormed back in the fourth quarter. In the game's final possession and down by six, head coach Mack Brown shockingly elected to run the ball with eight seconds remaining.

North Carolina running back Michael Carter appeared to run out of bounds with one second left. However, the officials announced the game was over, not allowing for one final Hail Mary attempt.

The outcome of the contest was eerily similar to the 2009 Big 12 championship, when Brown was the head coach at Texas.

The current Tar Heels boss was on the right side of history on that day, as a pass from quarterback Colt McCoy went out of bounds with one second left and the Longhorns kicked a game-winning field goal on the next play.
Adding to the craziness, the two schools scheduled the tilt to continue their in-state rivalry instead of waiting on the ACC rotation, so it counted as a non-conference game.
