Ohio State star running back J.K. Dobbins announced Monday his decision to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

Dobbins was one of the nation's top offensive players in 2019, finishing sixth in Heisman voting and second in total rushing yards.

"Coming to Ohio from Texas has been nothing short of a dream," he said in a statement. "I've built relationships that will last me a lifetime at this great university. I've created bonds with my brothers on the teams for the past three years that will never be broken."

The heartbeat of Ohio State's offense, Dobbins totaled 2,250 yards and 23 touchdowns in 14 games this season. The Buckeyes were eliminated in the College Football Playoff semifinals by Clemson on Saturday.

The talented rusher burst onto the scene with a strong freshman campaign in 2017. He took a step back in his second collegiate season, but an incredible 2019 likely boosted his draft stock.

Dobbins is expected to be one of the first running backs selected in April.
