Miami tight end Michael Irvin II will enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced Thursday.
"I will never forget my brothers and what I have been through at his place, the memories and relationships will last forever," Irvin said in a statement. "This hurts my heart to the core but I believe it will be what's best for my family and myself. Nothing but love for this place and the people in it, with that being said, thank you Miami."
Irvin is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver and former Hurricanes legend Michael Irvin.
The redshirt senior struggled to gain playing time in 2019, catching just two passes for 33 yards.
Irvin is immediately eligible to play in 2020 once he decides on his new school.
