ESPN considers Williams a four-star recruit and the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in his class and ranks him 15th overall in the ESPN 300.
Despite receiving offers from LSU and Maryland, Williams said he chose Oklahoma in part because of its success in developing quarterbacks. The Sooners have recently sent Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts to the pros.
"With their past three quarterbacks, I felt like it was for me. I felt like that was the best place for me overall, with what Coach (Lincoln) Riley has been able to do," he said, according to Jason Kersey of The Athletic.
