Report: Riley, Oklahoma agree to 6-year contract with 2 new seasons

Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley agreed to a new six-year contract that will run through the 2025 season, a source told Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.

The deal, which includes a two-year extension, was finalized in February after Riley rebuffed head coaching interest from NFL teams.

While Riley's 2020 salary won't increase after he already took a pay cut, the 36-year-old will be the highest-paid head coach in the Big 12, and one of the six highest-paid head coaches in college football.

Quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray won the Heisman Trophy in 2017 and 2018, respectively, under Riley's guidance. Last season's starter, Jalen Hurts, was a runner-up for the award.

Oklahoma has won 36 games and made three consecutive College Football Playoff appearances in the last three seasons.
