We detected our second consecutive bad line of the week last Saturday, with Boston College getting 5.5 points against Duke. The Eagles didn't even need 'em, taking care of business with a 26-6 win.

Bad line of the week: Tulane (-3.5 at Southern Miss)
You may as well call this one the Hangover Bowl.
Tulane could struggle to raise its game after coughing up a 24-0 lead to Navy last weekend. Meanwhile, Southern Miss lost to Louisiana Tech on the final play of its game.
However, if I had to pick which team gets back on track, my money is on the Green Wave.
Southern Miss has endured a tumultuous start to the 2020 season. The Golden Eagles lost to South Alabama as 13-point favorites in Week 1, watched their head coach resign just a few days later, then fell to 0-2 with another defeat as favorites last Saturday.
Now they're gearing up to play their toughest opponent in Tulane, which is also looking for its first win against the spread.
The Green Wave were unimpressive in Week 1 against South Alabama. However, that outcome was a bit fluky, with Tulane turning the ball over three times inside the Jaguars' territory. Tulane obviously needed to work out the kinks during its first game, and the school was playing a team on its second contest.
Then, last week, the Green Wave simply didn't show up for the final two quarters. They flat-out dominated Navy in the first half, storming out to an early 24-0 lead before crumbling in the second. Tulane still outgained the Midshipmen, and the team was unfortunate to throw a red-zone interception.
The Green Wave haven't put together a good game yet, but this is a prime opportunity against a deflated Southern Miss program. Fade a Golden Eagles squad that's 1-4 against the spread over its last five as 'dogs, and 0-5 ATS in its last five overall.
Pick: Tulane -3.5
