The Associated Press is projecting Tuberville will beat Senator Doug Jones.
Tuberville is just four years removed from roaming the sidelines. He owns a career 159-99 coaching record, a 7-6 record in bowl games, and a 2004 AP Coach of the Year Award.
He began his career at Ole Miss in 1995, going 25-20 over four seasons. Tuberville then spent 10 years at Auburn, where he went 85-40 and made bowl appearances in all but two campaigns.
He finished his college coaching career with a three-year stint at Texas Tech that yielded a 20-17 record, and a four-year stay at Cincinnati, where he went 29-22 but finished 0-3 in bowl games.
