Sanders received an offer just days after his father, NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, accepted the Tigers' head coaching position. "Prime Time" served as his son's offensive coordinator in high school, according to ESPN's Tom VanHaaran.
The younger Sanders is the No. 60 overall recruit on the ESPN 300. He's the highest-rated recruit to commit to an HBCU.
Sanders is currently the No. 14-rated pro-style quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
The young signal-caller currently plays for Trinity Christian in Cedar Hill, Texas. As a junior, he led the school to a 13-1 record and a third consecutive Division II state title in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, according to 247Sports' Andrew Ivins. Sanders has thrown for 8,925 yards and 123 touchdowns against 19 interceptions. He's also rushed for 198 yards and 22 scores on his way to two state championships.
Sanders becomes the fifth commitment for Jackson State since his father was named head coach.
