LSU continues to add to its haul ahead of the early signing period after receiving a verbal commitment Saturday from Derrick Davis Jr., according to Brooks Kubena of The Advocate.

The safety chose the Tigers over Penn State and Ohio State.

Davis is currently ranked as the No. 26 overall prospect and top safety on the ESPN 300. He's considered the fourth-rated prospect in Pennsylvania by 247Sports and the No. 2 safety according to 247Sports composite.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder is noted for his man-coverage skills and ability to rush the passer as a box defender. He's scored a school-record 77 touchdowns to date for Gateway High School, helping the team win two Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League championships, according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

Davis is the latest top-100 prospect from the ESPN 300 to commit to LSU. He joins quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, linebacker Raesjon Davis, and athlete Sage Ryan as one of the Tigers' more notable commits this cycle. LSU now has 22 commits with just over a month left before December's early signing period.
