Georgia landed a huge commitment Wednesday when IMG Academy athlete Xavian Sorey signed with the Bulldogs, according to ESPN's Tom VanHaaren.
Sorey committed to Georgia over offers from Florida and Alabama.
"The way they recruited me, the whole staff recruited me, even the defensive backs coach," Sorey said. "I know all of them, so it wasn't just the linebacker coach recruiting me. I talked to every coach a lot. The other schools, I talked to one or two guys, but at Georgia, I talked to the whole staff, so it was like family."
Sorey is the third-ranked athlete and sixth-ranked prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the ESPN 300.
The new Bulldog was named a MaxPreps second-team All-American this past summer. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound recruit, who's also excelled on the basketball court, transferred from Graceville High School in Florida to join the Ascenders for his senior season.
Sorey becomes the Dawgs' third top-20 recruit this cycle. He joins offensive tackle Amarius Mims and athlete Smael Mondon.
