King transferred from Houston in January and led the Hurricanes to an 8-2 record this season.
The dual-threat passer provided stability for a Miami program that struggled at the game's most important position over the last few years. He threw for 2,579 yards and scored 26 total touchdowns - 22 through the air and four on the ground - across 10 starts.
After finishing third in the ACC standings in 2020, the Hurricanes should once again be among the conference's top teams next season. Manny Diaz's squad will return a handful of key starters plus an impressive incoming freshman class.
Miami is set to close out the current campaign on Dec. 29 in the Cheez-It Bowl against Oklahoma State.
