Florida parts ways with defensive coordinator Grantham
Florida has parted ways with defensive coordinator Todd Grantham following a blowout loss to South Carolina on Saturday, the program announced Monday.
Linebackers coach Christian Robinson will take over defensive play-calling duties.
The Gators also dismissed offensive line coach John Hevesy.
Florida sits at 4-5 and 2-5 in the SEC after suffering its first three-game losing streak since 2017.
Grantham and Hevesy have been part of head coach Dan Mullen's staff since he took over in 2018.
Florida's defense was solid over Grantham's first two campaigns at the helm but has fallen apart since. The unit allowed 30.8 points per game in 2020 and is giving up 24.7 points per game this season.
The offensive line has also struggled mightily this campaign. The Gators rank seventh in the country in sacks allowed per game and gave up two during the 40-17 defeat at the Gamecocks.
Mullen said he was against firing coaches during the season after a loss to LSU on Oct. 16.
