Florida hired Louisiana's Billy Napier as its next head coach, the team announced Sunday.
It was reported Saturday that Napier was the front-runner to succeed Dan Mullen, whom Florida fired amid a 5-6 record.
Napier accumulated a 39-12 record through four campaigns at Louisiana, winning four division titles and one Sun Belt championship.
The 42-year-old will reportedly still coach the Ragin' Cajuns, who own an 11-1 record this season, in the Sun Belt championship game against Appalachian State on Saturday.
Napier previously acted as an assistant coach at Clemson, Alabama, Colorado State, Florida State, and Arizona State.
