Jahmyr Gibbs transferring to Alabama
Georgia Tech running back Jahmyr Gibbs is set to transfer to Alabama, he announced Tuesday.
Gibbs entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier in November after playing the past two seasons for Georgia Tech.
He was viewed as one of the top backs available after racking up 746 rushing yards, 470 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. The 19-year-old was also a dynamic kick returner, averaging 25.61 yards on 23 attempts.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder was PFF's highest-graded running back this season.
Alabama is set to lose its starter senior Brian Robinson, so the arrival of Gibbs will provide a major boost to the SEC champion's backfield.
Trey Sanders, Jase McClellan, Roydell Williams, and Camar Wheaton will all return for next season. McClellan, Williams, and Wheaton are coming off season-ending knee injuries.
Alabama also landed four-star backs Emmanuel Henderson and Jamarion Miller.
