Running back Noah Cain is transferring to LSU after three seasons at Penn State, he announced Thursday.

The Baton Rouge native will return home with a chance to replace the NFL-bound Tyrion Davis-Price as the Tigers' starting running back.

Cain ran for 350 yards last season at Penn State after being injured in 2020. He lost playing time to Keyvone Lee despite starting most of the games.

Cain rushed for 806 yards and 12 touchdowns in his Penn State career, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. He punched in eight rushing touchdowns in 2019 to break the Nittany Lions' freshman record.

LSU went 6-7 in 2021, leading the school to replace Ed Orgeron with longtime Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly.
