Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, a source told Doug Haller of The Athletic.

The news comes after a recent exodus at the school amid an NCAA investigation into recruiting violations. Earlier this month, defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce reportedly became the fifth assistant to leave the program. Offensive coordinator Zak Hill apparently resigned last month.

Daniels had announced in December that he was skipping the NFL draft to return to Arizona State for the 2022 season.

The California native tallied 6,025 yards, 32 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and a 62% completion percentage during his three seasons as the Sun Devils' starting signal-caller.

Last year, Daniels led the team to an 8-5 record while throwing for 2,381 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also added a career-high 710 rushing yards and six scores on the ground.

Trenton Bourguet and Alabama transfer Paul Tyson are among the options to replace Daniels.
